Title changed. No cookie for me.

Ever since my car was stolen , I've been wanting to get a another system for the car.
I've messed around with the Head Unit before but never an amp.
Those bastards at Frys wanted $70+parts to install a 4 channel amp and $35? and parts for the HU.

Nah, I'm too cheap to pay that.
Went digging around the net and bought stuff online and returned all that stuff back to Frys.
Just got done install the stuff and IT WORKS !!!
Kinda worried about the amp since there is a bunch of wirings but I was surprised it was quite easy.

OK, so its not professional looking(its actually very ghetto right now), I got all kind of wires in my car but it works dammit.
And the pride of doing it yourself and learning something new.

PIC1 Yeah I need to find a hole to put that power line through.
PIC2 Can it get any more GHETTO than this ??

Yeah I know its a cheap AMP, but I didn't want to experiment with an expensive amp. Its actually going back to Amazon. I'm getting something better.

Wow you can't be serious. 10/10 if this is a parody though.

How is this a parody thread ??
I installed that sucker myself.
I just need to tuck a wire here and there.

He was hoping. I mean, you have wiring running across your fender.

ummm...there should be at least one hole in the firewall with a grommet you could have run that power cable through. Then run it under the carpet or moldings. That really shouldn't take any more time than ghetto thing you have going.

Oh...invest in some cable ties and velcro.

You might get some serious sparkage if you wear through the insulation on that wire..

Go through the firewall somewhere -- it's really not that hard =)

I'm still trying to find that grommet that everyone was explaining.
So I take it you guys don't like my work ??

Even if the amp sucks, you still could have taken a little bit of time installing the wires. The next amp would drop right in and you only need to move the wiring from the old terminals to the new ones.

I can not see how you "learned" anything putting that amp in, since you did it so poorly (and I am sure its dangerous as well). The difficulty with installed audio gear is making it NOT look that that mess you made. Anyone can connect wire, doing it safely and making it look good is completely different.

it could have been more ghetto...you could have used speaker wire for power and ground 😀

EDIT: i've seen it done...it didnt take very long for the power wire to burn through the insulation and fvck up the plastic it was ran by...

Haha...I think my car would have blown up by now.
Have you tried it ??

ctrain, the grommet you are looking for is behind the battery of your car, (civic, i'm presuming). Take out the battery and look around, it will be there, it will lead to the floor of the passanger side.

hope that helps

Bonus ghetto PIC for you guys.
I have no speakers in the back.
Its putting out some good sounds.

Funny sh!t...my brother's friends were in the garage smoking and they asked me whats the wire thats running through the fender...I told them and they all laugh.

Yeah its a 99 si. I'll look for it ASAP. Thanx.

I wish I knew where you lived so I could just walk by your car and cut that wire. That install is taking rice to a whole new level.
