This guy used to hate SUV's now he has one of the worst

This kind of blows my mind. This guy couldn't even justify his purchase of this thing, he just turned a corner and "fell in love with it".

This is the #1 reason that they should slam a gas guzzler tax on these land whales.

And people wonder why gas will probably be up to $3 a gallon within a year or two.

He describes the M3 as a "so-called ?performance? vehicle". SO-CALLED???

And he traded it in on a freakin' Land Rover just because it was having some mechanical problems?? Sheesh!

What's especially funny is that Land Rover has one of the worst reliability ratings of any sport ute... his new Rover is under warranty but might spend some decent time in the shop. The brits make some nice stuff, but mechanical stuff from them is often not the best.

Notice that he also makes no mention of taking his new Rover offroading (something the Rover is actually quite good at).

This guy is clueless.

Unfortunately this rube also furthers the argument that SUV haters are actually "SUV wannabees".

If you read the article it appears he is quite happy with the choice he made. What difference in the world could it make to you what he drives?

<< After a reasonable run of only few problems, my BMW seemed to develop a need to not only visit the gas station more often, but also the service department. Electrical problems, iffy wheel alignment, brakes, more electrical problems - and, surprise, no longer under warranty. >>

Sounds like he grew tired of his "performance vehicle" always performing the service department tango.

Did he ever take his M3 SCCA racing? They are quite good at that.

You are right, he can chose whatever vehicle he wants. I can also ridicule his choice as much as I want.

We live in a society here, society makes the rules. This idea that we should all be free to do what we want is a pipe dream. You make sacrifices to live in a society.

Today his choice is fine and legit, however, if society decides that SUV's suck (due to cruddy gas mileage, increased danger to both the operator and others) and that we need some new regulations for them, then I would expect you to abide by them.

ok, everybody out there who spends 30K+ for a vehicle and take it off roading raise your hands.

I have a 4X4 pickup i bought new in 95 for 22K and I have never taken it off roading. Parts are expensive and like the owners of the high priced SUV i dont want to dent it up.

Actually with winter tires and the traction control on the newer BMW's they do quite well in the snow.

of course, Quattro is better... :Q
