As much as I hate to say it, wait, I don't hate saying this: Bonds is a class A asshole. His chase for 70+ is nowhere near as fun as the McGwire / Sosa run years ago. Sosa made it fun, Bonds has no one and he is always bullshitting saying he doesn't care about the record. I've not been a Bonds fan since he was with Pittsburgh and my Reds were battling them in the early 90's, and I still don't like him.

<< Hehehheheh SIKE! >>

Actually the joke is on you, straight from ESPN's web site:

Barry Bonds hit his 69th homer today against the Padres, and is just one short of Mark McGwire's record. Bonds, who launced N0. 69 into McCovey Cove, will get at least one more at bat with a chance to tie Big Mac (in progess).

And his team won't even make the playoffs

What? The Giants are only 2 games behind Arizona?

It would only be fitting for Bonds to go into the post season, where he could do his usual 2 for 19, 2 singles, no runs scored, no RBI's.
THAT"S the Barry Bonds that'll be remembered!

Bonds could finish with 74 or more HR's, but what I will remember about him the most is his inability to throw out the disabled Sid Bream in game 7 of the 1992 NLCS.
Was he throwing a baseball or a whiffle ball?

What term are you referring to, Dork? Listen, if you want to carry Barry's jock around for your vicarious pleasure, do so. But don't make this dope out to be the greatest thing since canned beer.
Put a few rings on his fingers, then we'll talk about your boyfriend in more glowing terms.

More fun? If you look at the stats, Sosa had WAYYYYYYY more opportunities to hit a home run than Mac. If Mac wasn't walked so much during that season, he coulda easily hit 80 or more homers...
