So, last night, I was speaking to my sister who fortunately goes to the other middle school in my town. She tells me that two kids were caught trying to plant a bomb, I was like ok... big deal. So anyway, my friend hooks me up with this article today: http://www.cnn.com/2001/US/02/18/crime.school.reut/index.html.

Damn, the world is MESSED up today... first, over the summer, a high school teacher (who was recently married) was kicked out after everyone found out she was sleeping with the students. She is now working in the town over (they are better academically, but suck in sports).

Then there was this other thing where the mother of one of the sophomores in the high school were sleeping with students and her husband taped them. Apparently, the students received drugs for sleeping with her.

I'm glad I'm outta that school system, it used to be one of the top ones, and I guess it is still up there, but the people making up the community are on a downward spiral. I bet my parents sell the house and move outta there right after my sister graduates.

When you read about Columbine and what not, you always feel that that kind of stuff will never happen to you... guess I was wrong.

Anyone hear about Elmira, NY? Well, the police found something like 18 bombs and sawed off shotguns after some students alerted the police about some students that had planted them and were trying to pull another Columbine! :Q Elmira is like an hour away from me...:Q

I live about 5 minutes away from Elmira. As far as I know, there was only one kid who had the weapons, 7 pipe bombs, a shotgun and a pistol. They apprehended him in the school cafeteria. It was pretty stupid of him, he's gonna be in jail for a while..

Man, this is the exact reason our school has a strict dress code.

A few years back, the only dress code was.
No ear rings
No short skirts.
No hats.
No facial hair.
Maybe a few more, but now there are twice as many rules as there was 4 years ago.
A few years back, the school board decided to execute a secret mission, to see what schools they think are safe.
A group of people just walked around in our school.
They were all adults, and carrying boxes casually.
I mean they just walked around, did nothing but look into class rooms.
No one asked them any questions, not even the teachers.

They sat the big boxes down in certain areas, and they just left.
Then the school board contacted our principal and told they what had happened.
Now we are forced to have ID's.....around our NECK.
I know aot of people that have ID's but dont even have to show them.
We do, and we have to tuck in our shirts.
OUr school sends home students with baggy shirts and/or pants. It is really strict now becuase of that incident, and all the other high school shootings.
Oh yea, theres also a start of the art camera system..which records live feed, and its not like that choppy stuff you see on TV of quicki marts getting robbed. This is live color feed.
=[
Theres cameras everywhere.
hehe

neo, i dont think that stuff is a bad idea... the reason i say that is because we are at school for one reason, to learn... not to be able to "express" ourselves... if all that stuff that your school is doing makes it safer, why is it a bad thing? because that one kid cant have purple hair? big f'ing deal... that one kid cant wear his chains? big f'ing deal...

But you should also be alowed to wexpress your personality, as being able to dress the way you like ( soe limits) allows students to express their thoughts without having to speak. Also, every stydent is unique, and should resist to be assimiltated.

my 8th grade year, there was a 2-month stretch, where EVERY wednesday, there was a bomb threat to the school, at the SAME time every wednesday.. even though they knew it was bogus, we still had to evacuate the whole school for like an hour.

got to be kinda funny, because we all knew it was coming, every freakin' wednesday.

then we had a few in high school during the stretch where every few months there was another school shooting, and after columbine.
