I was just reading about random fluctuations and Boltzman Brains. Is life itself a chain built of boltzman brains? A random fluctation may have caused the big bang, all these particles combined to make Earth, and larger building blocks formed proteins, which formed prokharyotes/eukharyotes, etc. up to now. There are more of us because such complex life also had the capability to reproduce/duplicate.

Or did I miss the definition of boltzman brains? A self aware entity risen out of random chaotic fluctations.

The Boltzmann brain is a thought experiment, a bit of a paradox, something logically possible but so improbable that it may be considered impossible, Boltzmann incorrectly postulated that the spontaneous generation of one brain out of nothing in more probable than the systematic development of the billions of brains in existence.

The only question is the big bang, everything in existence has developed out of this singularity according to physical laws which may themselves be entirely random (as the big bang). This could be some random fluctuation in a primary universe of different entropy, according to Boltzlmann, but this doesn't really answer any questions at all and seems unlikely as there is no evidence to support this. Such a universe would necessitate an infinite series of universes within universes as each settles to a high entropy state and spawns another universe. Again, there is no evidence to support this, no reason to believe that our universe as it is will eventually generate another big bang in some dimension or reality, it's all too esoteric and philosophical to be taken seriously, in my opinion.
