i;'m saying this with my chest - Boris Johnson is a sociopath IMHO.

He has the classic symnptom profile:

- Says lies out of boredom
- lacks empathy
- has no remorse
- schemes, is charming, funny, charismatic, power-hungry
- has a high-powered job/is a high-achiever

Fits to a TEE.

I tend to agree with Frankie Boyle's verdict on Johnson - though I worry he's going too easy on him;

Asked whether he had any farewell words for Johnson, Boyle responded that "he looks like a chewed toffee being cut off the hair of an Afghan greyhound".

The comedian addressed the prime minister, stating: "You finished with a quote from the terminator", in reference to his final words at Prime Minister's Questions, which were: "Hasta la vista, baby."

"The terminator because you killed 150,000 f***ing people during the pandemic", he said. "I don't want to sound like I've got a grudge or anything, but I hope a vent opens up in the ground and clawed hands drag you screaming into hell"

This was pretty accurate also
When Warsi mentioned that she looked favourably on Theresa May in comparison, Boyle replied: "Theresa May was a monster as well."
"What we forget nowadays is that she was only bearable because she had no power. For most of her time as prime minister, she had all the authority of the Do Not Tumble Dry label" he said.

What strikes me is that the current Tories, unlike Thatcher, who was extremely competent, albeit evil-competent, have mastered a neat trick of weaponising incompetence.

Their strategy seems to be to completely fail at governing, and by so doing, discredit the entire concept of government.

The NHS is on its knees thanks to them (with a strong assist from Clegg and the utterly wretched Lib Dems), and they like it that way, because it encourages people not to rely on it and instead turn to the private sector (if they can afford it). The passport office, the Court System, the prison system, the DVLC - every part of the state is failing, following the example of our abject failure of a PM.

The contrast between his fantasies of being the reincarnation of Winston Churchill and his dismal one-term-ending-in-internecine-ignomany performance as PM would be funny if it didn't involve so many deaths. In that respect, he does have something in common with Trump (who also clearly had a self-image massively out-of-kilter with his actual talents), if in a less-obviously-psychologically-damaged, and more articulate, form.

I hate myself so fuck the world. Being a responsible citizen with enough interest to be self educated enough to understand the personal effort it takes to be a worthwhile citizen just requires too much effort. I have all these personal needs. Santa Clause owes me. I need to get what is owed me.

I really don't understand why people are tolerating this rubbish, inert, hopeless government. Every part of this country is in crisis, and all the Tories are interested in is having an interminable, ludicrously-drawn-out, far-right beauty-contest, where they compete on how nasty they plan to be to asylum-seekers and where one calls the other a "socialist" because he doesn't want to cut-taxes immediately (paid for by borrowing) but is more concerned with a balanced budget.

It's come down to the last two - the slash-and-burn tax-cutter vs the bean-counter, for the final streatch of this ludicous 6 month-long reality-TV show to determine who gets gets the glittering prize of a Prime Ministerial salary and expense account, to be decided by a cohort of a couple of hundred-thousand spectacularly-out-of-touch white, male, southern Baby-Boomer Conservative Party members.

UK and US are neck-and-neck when it comes to having a mad right-wing party and an absurd political system.

You have a highly stratified society and a specially educated ruling class that is ingrown like a toenail, whereas we elect far more of our leaders at the level of general ignorance. What we get is toenail fungus.

You Brits probably have legit complaints about Boris, but two things are cannot be denied: (1) There has been a trend, worldwide, away from rational/democratic government to nationalistic authoritarianism-the US leading the pack with Trumpie but other countries (UK, Poland, Turkey, Brazil, The Philippines, India, etc. certainly jumping on board and (2) bad as you think Boris Johnson was, in the Trump Administration he would have best, at worst, a mid-level villain.

I still think as far as long term damage, Brexit was far worse to Great Britain than Boris Johnson by far. Like the US, GB seems to bound and determined to self destruct for the most trivial of reasons.

it's not just Johnson, it's the entire Tory Party. They chose him, after all. And now they are going to pick another one just as hopeless. Because Conservatives have something wrong with their brains. They don't care about this

or this

It seems that all they care about, obsessively and deeply-weirdly, are how hard the candidates say they will be towards asylum-seekers. That, and transgender stuff, appear to be the only things they think matter. Total weirdos, the lot of them.
