Boincview and the Mac

I am basically a windows person and I don?t know my way around Mac OS X. This file system is so different, I am a little lost. 😕

I have a Mac Mini on a Windows network. I am using Boincview on my main Win XP computer. The Mac-Mini is doing Rosetta and it is working fine. I can see the Mac in My Network Places, and I can log on and browse using My Network Places. But I can?t seem to find the directory that holds Rosetta at Home on the Mac mini.

When I open Finder, I see BOINC Manager in the Application directory, but that doesn?t seem to be shared, and I see nothing in the shared Home directory that is Boinc related.
I would like to include the Mac-Mini in my Boincview, so if there are any Mac OS X people in the house??.HELP???.point me to the file location on the Mac and tell me how to share it............................or not. 😛

I found the directory BOINC Data but can't find an option to share it...............................

I once taught a Mac to play dead. Of course, I had to help it along a little bit, but it eventually learned to stay dead. 😀

Hehe.. really though, I hope you figure out how to make your Mac play more useful tricks. 🙂

LOL..................

This was a Christmas present because I hinted I would like to try an Apple to see what it was like.

I don't want to offend any Mac users, so let's just say I personally prefer Windoze even with it's faults. Maybe if I had cut my teeth on Apple in the beginning things would be different.

Obviously, I haven't had any takers on my question so if I don't hear from anyone this go 'round I will let this message sink to the bottom.

Thanks for the laugh networkman. 😀

Funny thing is I did cut my teeth as it were on Apples... they just happened to be the Apple II series back when mice were still what the cat dragged in. 😛

I do not know how to make this to work, because my version of OS X is in Swedish bit lets try:

Open the directory i question in the finder.
Go to Archive, select "show info"
Go to the bottom of that window and look at "Owner and permissions (?)"
Go one step down and look at "details"
There should be three lines of permissions: yours, and two different groups - what their name is differs. Select the approporiate "owner" (e.g. "all" or your log-in-name) and give the appropriate permission.
The close it all.

Go to the computer which has boincview.
Open "Explorer"
Connect to the Mac
Find in the explorer the HDD
Find in the HDD the folder (see above)
Log into that folder using your log-name and password.

This worked for me ...
