I have a couple of older dell systems (GX150) that I might add to the mix later this summer. I'll probably stick Ubuntu on them since thats the flavor of Linux I've been playing with. How hard is it to setup BOINC on Ubuntu? It is a simple as a Windows install or is there compiling and such involved? They have Win2K COA's on them but I like the Ubuntu layout and options betters.

Just download the package and install it. It installs in the right place by itself.
No compiling at all. I have run it for a week without problems.
It is surprising similar to the windows-version.

I had it running for a few days but it would crash and would also get many computation errors.

I'm running on stock with an AMD X2 3800+

I've also notice that when the screen saver start it would crash boinc. You might want to disable that.

I don't care for screen savers anyways. This will be a month down the road so I figured I would get a heads up before I started on the computers. Thanks guys!
