Boinc Versions. Faster Calculating?

I'm running ROsetta and am using Boinc 4.x because that's what was out when I first installed it. I know Boinc 5.x is out but what's the main difference? Will I notice more WUs completeled every day and things like that if I upgrade or is the processing engine the same and it's just other stuff that has upgraded.

I don't want to have to go through and update stuff if I don't have to.

I have had but a brief experience with BOIND ... but here are my observations:

If you choose to upgrade your BOINC ... upgrade to one of the optimized versions (Google for CRUNCH3R) ... over and above the version changes, this BOINC client rocks in performance.

Now ... as to the BOINC application ... look for an "optimized client" . The BOINC "shell" will give you some "boost" but an "optimized" client will likely provide the bulk of the advantages. My basic opinion is to upgade ASAP with BOINC upgrades and meet performance issues head on.

Just an opinion..
