BOINC to Launch next month

Interesting ,thanks🙂 ,though they've got a few things wrong.
And yeah SETI plan to launch BOINC in the new year,if things go to plan😉

The first and easily the best known is SETI@home, which since 1999 has enlisted half a million people to analyse data

RC5 was 1st & SETI has enlisted 4.8 million users!:Q
I think the 1/2 million is related to currently active users (aprox 550k)

But despite this encryption, users still take a leap of faith in installing such software, says Colin Low at Hewlett-Packard in Bristol, UK.

Oh for Christ sake!

,does he actually know anything about DC?:disgust:
I'll bet he's never even run one DC project!:frown:

I think they mean the first project that will be in BOINC is Seti and they currently have half a million people running BOINC.

Well that's not what they are saying ,they weren't refering to BOINC in that paragraph:-

Distributed computing projects use a computer's spare processing power to help run vast computations, using a screen-saver-like program that they download. The first and easily the best known is SETI@home, which since 1999 has enlisted half a million people to analyse data from the Arecibo radio telescope in Puerto Rico, looking for signs of alien life.

Not refering to BOINC there😉

I think Januar is a realistic Time to start BOINC, the Beta Test are going very good......
