is it me, or is there no real description of what the Convector project is and does? also, is anyone else having trouble loading the Physics@Home URL? *EDIT* nevermind...the physics@home site must have been down earlier, but its back up now...

I let Google Translate have a go at it (the PDF is actually in Czech) and as far as I can tell it is doing simulations to test the most optimum materials, size, organization, etc. for a Ten-bar bridge truss.

This is what Google had to say:
1.1 test construction
"The Ten-bar truss"

Konstrukce them as shown in the Fig. 1.1 - 1.

Everything is in imperial units. It does this by that take the example of foreign literature original version, that our results were could be compared with results of other works. The structure is composed of 10 bars. Our goal is to minimize the weight of the construction to sell subject to restrictive conditions. permitted limit voltage ±25 to dogs 1 and deflection is limited 2 in the direction x in the direction y. M Shelob flexibility is considered E = 10 4 ksi and density of the material is 0.1 lb / in 3.

In nodes 4 and 2 is applied The load P of a great Osti 100 Kips. Each rod design is one of 42 discrete profiles.

Values are: 1.62, 1.80, 1.99, 2.13, 2.38, 2.62, 2.63, 2.88, 2.93, 3.09, 3.13, 3.38, 3.48, 3.55, 3.63, 3.84, 3.87, 3.88, 4.18, 4.22, 4.49, 4.59, 4.80, 4.87, 5.12, 5.74, 7.22, 7.97, 11.50, 13.50, 13.90. 14.20, 15.50, 16.00, 16.90, 18.80, 19.90, 22.00, 22.90, 26.50, 30.00, 33.50.

edit: p.s. Thanks for setting up the teams. :)
