Notice!!!
At some point in the near future i'm going to have to make a decision whether or not to keep doing these weekly stats. They're just taking too long to do & with more projects coming out it'll just get worse. The coming of Spring/Summer also has alot to do with it. I have more time to kill in the Winter.

If a decision could be made on which projects to keep track of i could probably live with doing 5-6, at most, projects. How that's determined i'll leave up to you guys. I still haven't gotten around to running any BOINC projects so i think the people that are running them should decide. I don't want to be the only one deciding which projects to track.

I'm open to suggestions here.

Dump the alpha/beta-projects.

Keep BOINC combined.

For the rest, probably the easiest is to choose according to size, the 5 biggest after size is:
SETI@Home
CPDN
Einstein@home
BBC/CPDN
Rosetta@home

To also display some of the "small" projects, one possibility is to randomly choose one of the remaining "released" projects to display this week, and remove project from selection till all has been choosen...

wow, you do all these stats and you're not even running boinc :Q

talk about a TeAmate

i pretty much agree with RD's suggestions. maybe even see if you can get someone from each project to just do a weekly thread like i do for SIMAP. that way you could focus more on the combined boinc as opposed to all the individual stats.

thanks for the stats ;)

Does everyone have regular (in normal circumstances, I know stuff happens) access to the forums and the internet? Maybe we could divy up the stats, and some people post certain projects for which they are responsible for? Lessen the load on Spacehead, and get everyone involved in it... ??

I agree too!!!

Spacehead, you are a trooper mate, and I can understand the time constraints, I have hit a wall myself lately, Its been a month or so since I have had time to work on the reddeyexpress site, its still in the works but at least for now its on the back burner untill I get more caught up in everyday lifes chores.

Thank you for all the effort you have put into the stats for as long as you have.

I would say keep doing the stats for the top five projects (or however many you feel like doing), then just keep the links to the TeAm stats for other projects at the bottom of the post.

I'm with RD and Fardringle; the top five , or some variation thereof.

Thanks for actually doing it at all.................... :D

Not many seem to be stepping up though. You(SIMAP), BMC(R@H) & Rattledagger has started doing SETI threads, though i don't know how long he'll keep doing that. If we had people doing daily/weekly updates on various projects that would be great.

I'm thinking maybe this... keep the Combined stats.
Drop SETI, SIMAP & Rosetta only because there are other daily/weekly stats threads for those. If Rattledagger stops doing the SETI threads i can pick back up on that. Rise & BMC seem to be pretty involved with their projects so i don't think that will be a problem, but i'll get with them & ask.

So that leaves the following to choose from:
CPDN
BBC
Einstein@Home
LHC@home
Predictor@home
Chronos
SZTAKI Desktop Grid
WGC

If you had to choose 4 of those projects to track, which would you choose?

In your spot, I'd probably let Alpha, Beta and projects with stats threads ongoing be the first to trim.

You can't loose Spacehead. We all appreciate your effort and understand there are limits to what one person can do. So let me add my voice to those advising to keep this at a level that is fun and rewarding to you.

I wouldn't know how to choose which to do except by numbers of participants. (most get the post) <--- I'm a poet ;)

As you already suggested Space, I guess you can drop the Rosetta part of your stats. I think I got that pretty much covered with my daily stats post.

Also, rise4310 is doing a really good weekly SIMAP stats thread so you could drop that one as well.

Minus the alpha and beta projects, how many will actually remain?

The most important thing, though, is that you have some FUN while you do the stats and that it doesn't become a burden to you. So, just make as many and as few as you feel comfortable with, or even shift to a biweekly thread.

EDIT:

Another thing that might help you is that LHC has work only from time to time and if they have any, they say so right on their front page. So, if LHC is out of work, there's no need to include them in the weekly post or just simply copy the old week's part.

I can't really play favorites on which projects you should keep since my main project is Rosetta and we've already decided you don't need to keep doing that one.

However, I might be able to help you narrow the field a little.

CHRONOS sounds like a really interesting project (and I'd like to read more, if only I could read Japanese) but since we only have two people on the team, you probably don't need to keep doing weekly stats for that one.

WCG is in a similar category. Only 8 people have contributed any results at all in the last 30 days, and only 5 (one new) have returned results in the past week.

uFluids has 14 total members, 9 have returned results in the past 28 days, 8 in the last 7 days. Percentage-wise (active members/total members) this is one of our most active projects, but again there are only a few people participating so likely not much demand for regular stats posts.

Of course, if you are directly involved in any of these projects then you may have a special interest in running the stats for them, but otherwise I would say they are the most likely options to be cut from the list.
