BOINC Screensaver problem

Not sure if this is a known issue or not but it's really strange...

I'm running Windows XP Pro at work. When I leave my desk I generally lock my workstation so no one can come by and start using my computer. I have BOINC setup to be the screensaver.

If the SS comes on and I have NOT locked my desktop, the Boinc SS comes on fine and shows the colored things moving around and everything is great. However if I lock my computer and then the SS comes on, I just get a blank screen.

Has anyone else experienced this at all? Is this a known bug or anything? Just seems strange.
 
It's a known issue in the E@H project for sure - they keep saying they'll fix it in a later version.

I'm already running the latest version of the BOINC client so it ain't fixed yet.

Edit: The only machine I actually run the screensaver on is my machine at work - people stop by and ask what it is - I explain - and they think it's cool. 🙂 It's a subtle way of getting people to think about idle computer processors and Distributed Computing. 😉

Same thing here. This is just on my work laptop. Sometimes the ROsetta thing comes on with the Boinc Logo and it just has a percentage. Sometimes it has the normal charts and stuff, and when I have the screen locked, it seems to nto come on at all.

Oh well.

Not sure what happens if I leave it unlocked and set the SS to 1 minute and to prompt for password. Maybe I'll try that tomorrow.
 
I tried the Rosetta Screensave with locking my PC here and sorry to say, but it works! The screensaver comes on without a problem and does display the proteins. I know, not much of a help dor you, but I guess the "1 minute & password" idea should work as well.

I, too, remember talks about that problem with E@H some time ago. Apparently, it hasn't been fixed yet. 🙁
