BOINC not running 2 at once...

I'm new to the whole BOINC thing....

I signed up for Seti and Predictor. Up unti ltoday Seti never downloaded anything so Predictor was all that was running. But now finally today Seti actually downloaded something. I have them each set to 100 which means they shoud each be using 50% of the resources. However when I look at the Work tab, only the Predictor file is running and the Seti files say Ready to Run way down at the bottom of the list.

I thought that since they are set to 50% they would each be running at the same time. Am I thinking wrong or is my BOINC not working right? Just want to make sure I have everything set up properly.

Thanks.

They are both set to 50%.

Each will run 50% of the time.

I think the default is 60 minutes. Seti should run for one hour and stop and then Predictor will run for one hour.

You can fine tune which project you want to give more time to by setting one to 200 and leave the other at 100 or 300 and 100 or even 50.

If you have a dual core, dual CPU or Intel HT CPU you can tell BOINC that you want it to use 2 CPUs. On my dual Xeon with HT I can choose to run up to 4.

Ah ok. I thought they would both run at the same time and just divide the resources. It's just a p4 laptop so I'll have to keep an eye on it.
