BOINC makes Zone Alarm block most of my net connexion

I have Zone Alarm basic as my firewall
I also use SETI@BOINC
Both start at windows startup
It seems that every time BOINC finds that it needs to connect immediately at start-up, Zone Alarm thinks it's some hijacker and blocks anything coming from one of the svchosts running.
Only way to take it off is to put my router in the trusted zone for a minute (so dangerous!) or to turn off the svchosts that are not activated by system.
It usually does the trick, but not always (needs a reset then after i do a manual update on boinc to make sure it will not redo this on next startup). But i'm fed up right now about this because it does it every 2-3 days although boinc is set to update itself every 10 days.

System i'm talking about is NewRig in my sig

Get rid of ZA.

1. If you are behind a router, you don't need a firewall. If you aren't, you still probably don't need one.
2. There are much better, easier to use, firewalls out there that will block the bad stuff and not the good stuff. ZA blocks everything.

I think that it is worth having a 'proper firewall' - software implemented.
SP2 firewall isn't that effective.
Router software still lets stuff through - had 8000 probes in a week according to ZA and this is using a router with firewall.
