Need your help on setting up a linux box.

I've just started running Linux on the A64, and need help to install boinc.

I've downloaded the file for linux, and untar it. Now, how do I make it running ?

P.S. - I've have not touched *unix since SCO Unix on collegue, so my knowledge is pretty basic.
Gonna past next weeks reading alot, but would like to set this machine to high gear.

TIA,

Isn't running linux, so is just "stealing" from another forum:
download the file. open a terminal and do the following:
gunzip boinc_whatever.gz
chmod +x boinc_whatever
./boinc_whatever

then put in the project url (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu) and the key they emailed you when you signed up.

Hopefully this should work, if not, try
./boinc_whatever -attach_project
