According to the team stats, nobody else seems to be returning units either 🙁

If they are actually giving out credit now, i'll put it back on a system.

It was getting very disconcerting having all my CPU time used, but nothing to show, so i started SB back up on my machine, as that was showing me actually doing something.

Confused

Um, what is "BOINC" actually doing right now? By that I mean, what are the clients analyzing? (that is not a sarcastic question - I honestly don't know)

They are BETAring AstroPulse, which is analysing radio telescope signals, looking for black hole evaporation and other phenomena (shamelessly ripped from the AP page 😉)

They are not accepting new users signing up, but if you want to test it out, I'm sure someone here will allow you to use their account details.

Its Astropulse thats running at the moment ,it scans already recorded data from Arecibo for strong & broadband pulses (no not ADSL😉) for signs of blackholes ,other types of ET signals & also I think Quasars (radio pulsing stars).

I'm sure Andy can give a more accurate description (thats if the heatwave hasn't gone to your head mate😉hehe ,was 38C at Heathrow here yesterday:Q🙁 which is only about 20miles away as the crow flies)

I think our battle to finish SETI1 in good standing has caused us to tighten our ranks. I was going to put a box on AstroPulse, but I've since decided to wait.

If that were the temp of your system you would claim it was running cool! 🙂 100 f. and 95% humidity is very common in parts of the South during the Summer. But, we have A/C everywhere! It is hard to buy a car w/o A/C

Same here. Want to reach 30,000 Wus before the project ends 😀 and keep the TeAm at least in 6th place.

Also, I ran it for a while but never got credit for the work and was just wasting CPU cycles.
🙁

I'll switch back to BOINC when they start SETI2 on it and hopefully have all the bugs worked out.

I'm waiting to see if someone on the AP forum can come up with a description of BOINC/Astropulse and the way the credits are worked out.
I'm crap at this sort of thing 😱

Only slightly worse than the Lifemapper TeAm... :brokenheart:

Been running with fewer machines to keep the temp down. :sun:

Maybe things'll pick up now the cooler weather is on the way.

🙂

I crunched 4 Wus for Astropulse / BOINC. And about 4 others got aborted, I timed out or I just got some other error. All in all about 90h of CPU time (ca. 18 SETI@homeWUs for me) . And for all that = NO CREDIT. So i drew all my CPU power back to SETI@home. Hopefully they change that credit system somewhat, cause "granted" and "claimed" credit isn't good imho.

Yeah sure did!🙁 ,where we are would of been very close to that temp.I'm near Aldershot in Hampshire if you have a map.
I'm glad though it didn't hit 100F(38C) when I was in the workshop!

"We recently discovered a design flaw in Astropulse output which would liekly prevent validation and credit from being granted to many results. We are changing the output format.

During this transition we are granting credit to old and current results, so you should be gettting a lot of cobblestone credit."
