BOINC- how to delete old computers?

My 'ol K7V-133 finally bit the dust...so I plugged another box in its place, installed BOINC, and attached to my project. Now how do I delete the old box from my roster? I looked at the 'merge' function, but there were no computers listed there 😕 I poked around the Boinc and Rosetta forums, but I didn't see this listed.

Only computers with same cpu-field and OS can be merged.

But, old "done" wu and results is routinely being purged from BOINC-projects, so when "Results" for a computer shows 0 a choise of "delete computer" will show up.

Different projects has different times from wu "done" till purged, in SETI@Home/BOINC it's normally one week from a wu's last result either is reported, or it passes it's deadline.

So, if your crashing computer had one or more results "in progress", the earliest you can expect to delete is one week after deadline... but for Rosetta it can look like more than 2 weeks before results is purged, or possibly they're not running db_purge continuously...

Ah, that's actually good to know. I've had one of my comps listed twice under "my computers" for about 3 weeks now but I can't merge them. Hopefully I'll be able to delete it once the WUs "time out" and one or two more weeks have passed.

Thx for the info Rattle 🙂

There is a way to delete a host computer(I've done it several times), but it's currently escaping me.. no coffee yet. 🙁 Anyway, even if you had credit completed on such a computer, deleting the computer only removes it from the list, your credit still remains with your overall account.

Hmm, wasn't this answered already...

Anway, the choise will be displayed after "merge this computer", but only when "Results"-count has reached zero...
