BOINC farm questions

I haven't actually run BOINC a whole heck of a lot(running Riesel Sieve until at least the 10th).

Here's my question: How would one go about running a BOINC farm? Is it even made for a multi-computer setup? I've never actually had a farm, it's more of a starry-eyed "In the future" sort of thing. I'm simply trying to be proactive.

In v4.2x you can customize the installer, and deploy the installation using active directory. For more info, see http://boinc.berkeley.edu/win_install.php

If you on the other hand only has a small home-farm or something, the easiest is to manually install BOINC as service on all computers, attach to thatever project you wants to on one computer, and just copy account_project.xml to the other computers and re-start the client. 🙂

Oh, and to make it easy to monitor all machines from one computer, also make a small file called remote_hosts.cfg and put in the BOINC-directory. In this text-file, you can put one computer or ip-address on each line, and this should be which computer(s) you'll use to control BOINC from.

I just use an 8 port switch for my 7 home computers to the cable modem, Load BOINC, set and forget, well allmost 🙂

I also sneakernet 2 machines at work..
