The 1st. command-line-version of BOINC for windows is now part of the core client download. 🙂
The cli can be installed as service, but this doesn't work correctly at the moment.
The proxy-support also seems to be broken for now.
"We released version 2.23 of the Windows core client.
Could all Windows users please upgrade as soon as convenient.
Major changes:
- New screensaver (thanks to Rom Walton, who did massive amounts
of work on this and many other parts). Works with multiple monitors,
works with password protection on 9x/NT/XP,
more informative messages.
- User-supplied text is now XML-escaped everywhere.
You can have "<" and "&" in your team name or user name
and it won't break anything.
- Includes a DLL (dbghelp.dll) that will make
stack-trace stuff work correctly on pre-XP Windows.
- Support for the anonymous platform mechanism.
What this means to Windows users is that you can download the
SETI@home/BOINC source code, tweak it however you want
(optimize it for AMD, rewrite the FFT in assembly)
and use your version instead of the one issued by our server.
