Astropulse 2.11 has been released for Windows, Linux, Solaris (new workunits will automatically download it). There was a bug in Astropulse 2.09-2.10 that caused workunits to not resume partial computations correctly. Astropulse 2.11 also hopefully will fix the 'result output size exceeded' bugs.

They've not opened up for new registration yet...

Since it's to get more beta-testers they'll planning to open up later this week, of course already beta-testers for Astropulse can continue crunching with their account. 😉
Both Astropulse & Seti will run under the same beta-test, and you can not yourself choose that type of work you'll crunch...

The only new I've at this time seen in v2.10 is that the installation asks if wants to put shortcut in your startup-folder. 🙂

Cool, i might have to try it then 🙂
I was having problems with the older Beta version crashing when it tried to download 10wu's at the same time over my crappy 56k connection

, hopefully this fixes it 🙂

What is everyone in SETI 1 thinking about BOINC?

Astropulse seems to be a very worthwhile project but then there is the southern hemisphere search and i think 2 more.

Also will there be a centralized BOINC stat system (i know it doens't go by WUS but by the actual processing power?) so that a user could choose Seti2, astropulse, F@h, sob all to run under Boinc and then stats will be generated by the boinc client to cover the amount of cpu power contributed? Just curious as to how the stats will work w/ a ton of projects all working together.

[edit] after a bit more searching it appears that there will be a centralized stats system based on the Cobblestone and then each individual project can outsource this infromation to create their own stats. COOL!

also: " Eventually projects will develop applications that use graphics coprocessors or other non-CPU hardware. Credit should reflect the usage of such hardware. To accomplish this, we will need to let projects supply their own benchmarking functions. This will also handle the situation where a project's application does e.g. all integer arithmetic. "

🙂

Thanks!

Individual projects will have individual stats.

BOINC is purely a "wrapper" for DC clients, allowing you to run and control all the clients from one centralised location. So, if you want to run 2 projects, BOINC will share your resources 50/50, and you'll only have one application running.

Well, atleast for the sharing you yourself controls if 50/50 or 90/10 or something other. 🙂

As for stats, I think it's planned to have a total stat-score also, but this is difficult to accomplish... Especially since you as an example can be ConfusedBW in one project and Confused in another. 😉

In seti & astropulse on the other hand they can probably use one account-key but 2 different urls, so getting a total score is easily accomplished...
