If you manages finding enough drivers and so on for win64 so it's a point to install it, you shouldn't have any problems running seti@home/BOINC...

It's possible if you're trying BOINC v4.25 something else is using port 1043 so refuses to run, but if so you can try v4.42.

I ran 32-bit boinc for months on several beta and release candidate builds of Win xp64.
On my A64 2800 the times were roughly equivalent to a AthlonXP2800+.

I noticed no driver or port issues with Boinc.

So for the laymen out here, can someone tell me how to get started with BOINC on XP64? I just finally installed the release version of XP64, and want to give BOINC a whirr.:)

Just download the BOINC client, would recommend the latest development-version v4.44, install preferably as service, let the benchmark finish, if uses proxy-settings configure these, attach to whatever projects you wants, and possibly select BOINC to connect through any firewalls you're using.

Don't know of any optimized win64-seti-applications, but you can use the optimized win32-application. Look at http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=14822
for links to download the P3-version. How to install is mentioned in 1st post in this thread, but would recommend to not use the outdated boinc.exe from any of the optimized archieves.
