Just wondering, how do I remove a computer from my Seti @ Home Boinc account?

If you mean remove from listing of your computers a computer that you've stopped running, you'll have to wait till all results for it has been purged from the database. This can take some time, especially since AFAIK the db_purger haven't run since upgraded to the new db-server...

If it's just a new computer-id generated for some reason for a computer still active, it should most of the time be possible to merge them... But due to the client changing detection-routine of processors between v4.13 and later clients it's not certain this is possible.

Nope,... compuer that is no longer online. So I can't remove it? It'll just come off on it's own,.... in time?

You must manually delete it, but you can't delete a computer that have got atleast 1 "result" assigned to it.

But, normally old wu/results is purged from the database, so when the db_purger starts again the result-count should slowly decrease to zero. When this has happened, you can delete the computer from the list.

If I view results, it shows 1 that was submitted in July 2004, and is still pending....?????
[/end threadjack]

Not concerned about the computers showing, as that is correct, just the aboce issue.

There are atleast 2 groups of wu being "stuck", but it's also some wu that have already errored-out that haven't been purged yet. The stuck wu needs a fix-script to be run to try re-starting them, but it's unlikely they'll ever validate...

gg,

I'm not sure what causes these duplicate computer listings but there is a built-in tool to fix it.

Login to your BOINC account and click on VIEW COMPUTERS.
By inspection you can figure out which are the older iterations. Click on the COMPUTER ID NUMBER of the oldest duplicate.
At the bottom of the COMPUTER SUMMARY you will find an option to "merge this computer".
Merge the old duplicate into the current active iteration.
If there are other old duplicates, just repeat the process.

:)

I got 1 merged but there was no box to check to merge the second. Also on the top of the page it say's BOINC sometimes just spits out dup ID'S so maybe it's not anything i did :) Thanks g :D
