BOINC: A proxy conundrum

Hi all... I've been wondering about this for quite some time. One of my rigs is behind a proxy, and in the past I've tried Find-a-Drug, Folding@Home, World Community Grid with no issues. Those clients have something in common -- options like "Automatic proxy configuration URL" or "use Internet Explorer settings."

On the other hand, those that didn't work are SETIDriver, BOINC and DIMES. I notice that these clients only provide a space to fill in "Proxy server address" and "Port." I know the address & port of this proxy server. It does require authentication, but I'm kinda clueless as to whether this is a HTTP or SOCKS proxy. Either way, nothing I've tried seems to work.

Anyone else facing a similar problem, especially with BOINC? Not sure if this needs input from the folks in the Networking forum.

Well I'm running BOINC and DIMES dimes from behind a http proxy server (no authentication required) without any problems. I used Seti driver to connect to my internal seti queue and the queue connected through the proxy server to the inet.
