as i noticed on my Athlon 3.200+, the results are extremly slow

Picture my Athlon XP 3.200+

normally this comp is crunching a WU in 2:30-2:45 with tho old 4.03 Client, but with thw new 4.05 Client it takes over one hour more to complete a WU, just wondering...

Sir Ulli

From the available info, v4.05 seems to be 40-50% slower.

Looking back, this is roughly the same speed as v3.07 had, and this version was the last debug-build before release. The size of pdb is comparable to debug-build, but the exe is much bigger in v3.07 than v4.05 so it's difficult to know what's going on...

Anyway, it doesn't mean much, since crediting is based on run-time, so this just means more cobblestones per wu.

None of my machines have done the"automatic" upgrade to 4.05 yet, all are running Boinc 4.09 and all are still using Seti 4.03.

This is with a mix of automatic and manual connections to Berkeley.

It looks like I have crunchers using both Boinc v4.05 and v4.09, but all are using setiathome v4.03.

I don't know about speed since I don't watch them that closely.
