I have an Epox mobo k3a+ ? and an athloe 1800 "b" it is currently running at 200 * 11 rock stable. The problem is that usdm is saying that cu temp idle is 64 and under loads its 71. Even at default its 61 idle. the HSF is a thermaltake 7+(high speed fan setting) with AS3 paste.

I feel its safe to assume that these temps are plaingly wrong. on this mobo i have had a 1500xp 2000xp and 1800xp and not one of them has idled below 60c.

Anyone have similar readings on another epox board? and is it common for mobos to misread like this?

those have to be wrong.... I have an asus a7n8x, but i have used the same fan u have on my barton 2500 overclocked to 2255 mhz and my full load temps were only 44c at full load and 41c idle, so there must be something wrong. ATM im using the thermalright sk7 with the volcano 7+ fan and my temps are at 37-38c idle and 41-42 at full load.

no, those temps are not wrong... the 8k3a (and 8k3a+/8k3e) were all internal diode reading boards only. No socket-thermistor temps.

So the temps that you are getting are within the CPU core, which is inifinitely more accurate than other motherboards today. Epox got slammed for having temps that were supposedly too high, and removed this feature from future motherboards.

under 80 is desirable with an internal diode reading, but over 80 was seen quite often with the 8k3a+ ;).
