Boeing 737 Hail Damage

An EasyJet Boeing 737-300 was damaged when it was hit by heavy hail for just 6s, shortly after take-off from Geneva on 15 August. There was significant damage to wing and empennage leading edges, the radome, and nacelle inlets. Both forward windscreens were also cracked. The London Luton-bound aircraft returned immediately.

Pics!

The sound in the plane from the hail hitting the plane must have made everyone sh!t bricks! like machinegun fire...and looking at those pics, you know it must have been LOUD

Damn....I bet the people on that flight were thinking WTF? I know I would have probably been on the brown shorts express if that had happened to a flight I was on.

Amazing that the engines survived. I've seen video here at work of the engines ingesting a lot of stuff and they continue to function. But if a large hail stone had knocked off a blade or two... wow.

They'll have it fixed in a couple months...I've seen worse be repaired. Although, it IS a -300...may just trash it.
