Body Worlds, anybody been to the expo

Yeah I saw it when it was here in Cleveland about 8 months ago. It was pretty cool, but once you've seen one body you've pretty much seen them all.

Went in Chicago. It was pretty interesting, if you don't go in with a "wtf this is so not ethical" attitude.

Cool, I'm in Denver too. If I'm still in Denver (trying to hook a new job in Milwaukee) I'll definitely be going to that.

as soon as it comes to phx, az i am there. if it doesn't come here quick i may go visit some friends and stay with them, take them to it if it goes to either la or san fran again....

I always wanted to go because it looks interesting. I'm glad it's coming to Denver, looks like i'm going to finally visit that exhibit.

I saw it in Chicago, its pretty crazy. Its cool if you're into bio and physiology. But some of it is plain disgusting at least to me.

Saw it in Cleveland last summer. It was fascinating, even for someone who got light-headed on a visit to the gross anatomy lab in grad school (dead bodies -- it was a med school, but I wasn't a med student so I didn't have to take the class, just visited once). It was weird to see it and realize that that's what I look like underneath. The exhibit sparked a fight with my in-laws, though; MIL thought it was wrong for anyone to be able to see dead bodies, even if that's what the donors wanted.

Anyway, I highly recommend the show.

Been to two of them. It was very interesting but it's over really quick.

We saw it in Chicago. You could stay in as long as you liked. Did they make you just walk through?

Oh, it was pretty awesome, I just wish they would let you take pictures. 🙁

I saw it in L.A. when it was there a year or two back. It was, hands down, the coolest exhibit I've ever seen anywhere! It's nice to finally see what's inside of us and how we work by seeing the real thing, instead of plasticky rubbery models and casts. I also like how Guntar posed them. For instance, the model whose brain was exposed was positioned in "the Thinker" pose. He even had a demonstration set up whereby you can observe the process he uses to preserve the models. It's called plastination I think. Very cool stuff, and it's not as gross as people think by the way. THere's no blood and guts and stuff. Just very clean specimens.

There was controversy because he had some fetuses preserved, and the uppity, easily-offended twits had sand in their vaginas about that.

Saw a show about that on TV, I'd like to see it.

<edit> Looks like it's in philly until April, maybe I'll catch it there.
