Got in a fender bender with my new 05 EX-V6 with Navi (<5000miles) and the bumper had to be replaced.

I took it to the dealership to get fixed and when I got it back I noticed the bumper was a different color than the rest of the car!!!

Should I bother to get this fixed or just skip the hassle?

UPDATE:

I swung by the dealership and they agreed to fix it. The guy was very nice about it and I had no problems at all.

I'll be very honest with you, and this is coming from a guy who uses and prioritizes color a lot, I can't really tell the difference.

[edit] you think you can show more pictures rather than one close up and with not a lot of reflections? I think that's what's throwing me off.

There's a difference? I can't see any.

If it bothers you, and their insurance is paying for it (assuming you were rear-ended), then go for it. Otherwise, don't worry about it.

The difference isn't huge in the pic, I only glanced at the first pic. Wasn't til I really looked at the second that I could tell. I wouldn't be upset about it, but I would take it in and ask them to fix it.

I can tell the difference but hey, think of it as getting a free two tone paint job. Now you just need a matching front bumper. :p

On my laptop screen, the difference looked pretty pronounced.

It is hard to tell in the photos. But if you notice it from 6' away in normal lighting, yes, you should absolutely go and complain. They will try to tell you that it looks different because the bumper is a different material (plastic) than the rest of the car (metal). This is only partly true. Your front bumper is made of the same plastic and I'm assuming you do not notice a big difference between that bumper and the front fenders.

Since the car is brand new there should be no paint fading etc. It MIGHT be possible that the new paint will darken a bit over the next few days - but I would definitely bring it up with the shop that fixed it, tell them that it is unacceptable, and ask them to repaint correctly.

If it's an insurace claim I would definatly go back and make them fix it.
Insurance policies state the car it to be fixed back to its original condition. That is not the original condition.

I saw the difference instantly. Id get it fixed. But then again I'm the one who noticed that 1000 of our newly ordered brochures at work had our logo incorrect. They had an oval instead of a circle, and no one had noticed.

I have the same thing on one of my cars and it bugs me terribly every time I look at it.

At first I saw nothing. Then I noticed it. And if the whole car is darker than the bumper it would look odd. Details on what happened?

I can see the difference. IIRC, They need to paint over the quarter panels onto the 'good parts' so that the change is gradual rather than stops at the bumper. Bring it back and have them fix.
