Maybe the kid fell in, then afterwards someone walked by, saw the lid open and decided to close it

thats what i thought too

I was thinking the kid was abducted by one of the neighbors, possibly molested and killed, and then dumped in the septic tank.

yah and as IGBT said they are not easy to get into.

I have a Septic tank. when we had it pumped 3 years ago it was not an easy process (though it was kinda stinky). they had to dig up the hatch. then force it open.

but anyway wonder what made them check it? maybe it had a ovious hatch or something. but wow. i gotta give them credit for checking it.
