Body of Dru Sjodin found

🙁

how cnn announced it on tv really pissed me off. they had a thing running across the ticker saying "Dru Sjodin found" and then "Sherrif: 'Dru is home'" so i thought they'd found her alive

🙁

even when authorities stopped the search because of winter conditions, they kept looking for her 🙁

horrible thing 🙁

Does ND have the death penalty? how about Minnesota? How does the jurisdiction work, since she was found in Minn, but taken from ND?

At least the family can have a little closure.

Now that there's a body I hope they throw the book at this bastard.

I know Minnesota doesn't have the death penalty. I don't think ND does either.

interesting question, i think either state would be able to properly try the case. could also be federal charges since it was across state lines.

She went to my school, so this is a HUGE deal here. My department also has a huge part in the investigation, and one of my colleagues works in the jail & sees the prime suspect daily. We do not have the death penalty in ND, IIRC.

I can't say I'm surprised, but at the same time it still saddens me.

Her disappearance hit way too close to home, she reminded me of both my sister & my g/f.

I hope they fry that sonofabitch. Even more, I wish to God she'd had one of these with her.

I think he's just saying that we've had winter conditions, and to us this winter didn't qualify for "winter conditions."

That's terrible. :| (Are you sure you read it right? I'm just wondering because it's so unbelievably bad.)

Minnesota does not have the death penalty, but this case has many people asking whether the state should.

Really, justice might be better served by letting ppl like him into the general inmate population...

This lowlife will be charged in MN and receive life. And us taxpayers will feed him.

There is 0% charged he will be charged in ND.

Sad sad sad is all I can say. Such an attractive, smart ordinary student just trying to get
an education. Instead she met a violent death 🙁

Reminds me of the Gainesville ( Danny Rolling ) murders. It was crazy in Gainesville then.

One of my friends lives there, actually lives in the house across from Dru Sjodin (well that or across from Alfonso Rodriguez, I dont remember exactly).

I think the person I feel for most is the girls boyfriend. He was on the phone with her when she was abducted. I don't know if it's true, but they say the last thing said was 'Oh my god.." *click*. That will be with him forever 🙁

kill him

nothing else to say. He had a second chance and blew it. I can understand the argument against death penalties with a first time offender when you aren't 100% sure, but I dont even care if there's any ounce of doubt in cases like these.
