So I keep pounding into you go getters on why body language is important. I'm only trying to help. Body language is one of your most powerful tools - in life and in business.

1) Initially face to face it is a power struggle, take control with a power position. Use humble jestures like a quick head nod...QUICK and look into the eye. If you called this meeting then you are in control and you demand this from all attendees' Your eyes are your weapon.
2) Shut your trap and listen - this allows you to gauge your audience
3) Always present an open/relaxed posture - hands open, you are not a threat (unless you want to be a threat if so your body language should change dramtically but use this posturing and language once you've established control.)

Basically choose the language and posture you need for the meeting and follow through with it. It could be defensive, it could be offensive, it could be "I'm here to help", it could be any number of situation.

But do pay attention to it.

I think I've started a thread like this before in an effort to help. I think I pay more attention to my body language than I do anything else.

Absolutely agree. Communication is arguably made up of more than 90% nonverbals. I have several different books on BL and they've been an invaluable asset.
