Is it really that hard to go and try for yourself?

Yes its free to sign up, and you cna play for play money or for real money.
 
They can advertise the "free" .net version in tv commercials. Then, the free version has ads all over it for the pay version.

They can't advertise a gambling site on tv, but they can advertise the free ones saying they are places to help you learn poker...
