Bob Barker, the charismatic, longtime host of “The Price is Right” and an outspoken animal rights activist, has died. He was 99.
Barker died at his home Saturday morning in Los Angeles. His rep confirmed his passing to TMZ. The game show legend died of natural causes.

“I think that it would be nice if people remembered me as a guy who loved all living things and did as much as he could to make ours a better world for animals — and also did quite a few television shows,” Barker said in 2007 when asked how he’d like to be remembered.

Barker was a 19-time Daytime Emmy award-winner: 14 for Outstanding Game Show Host for “The Price Is Right” and four “Outstanding Game Show” awards as the show’s executive producer.

That sucks .... I genuinely like him. :( (RIP) Still 99 is a pretty good run! :)

It takes a true gentleman to NOT take himself too seriously!

Pretty sure Bob would want us to smile @ his memory not cry so that's what I'm going to do. ❤️

SlingTV has an entire channel dedicated to Bob Barker reruns 24/7. The shows from when Bob had dark hair and before the scandals. It's fun to watch when nothing else is on. I think you can get it on the free version of SlingTV as well.
I was shocked to hear Bob Barker had died, I thought he died long ago but maybe I was thinking about when he retired from the show.

Sling also has debated channels that run 24/7 airing The Carol Burnett, The Dick Van Dke Show, Family Feud, 21 Jump Street, the tv series ALF, Baywatch, Jimmy Kimmel, Johnny Carson, and probably a lot more I'm missing of the old classic tv shows and tv series.

RIP.

He was kinda a part of my childhood, I remember I would be playing with my toys or whatever, and Price is Right was on TV and it was always around lunch time, and sometimes I'd even stop to watch because I liked some of the games on the show. I can still picture his voice in my head, over the smell of Kraft Dinner that my mom would be making around the same time. My grandma used to babysit me at times and she watched it a lot too.

I thought I was pretty good at some of the games/prices.

The Price is Right was always on the TV at 11am or noon when I was growing up. Bob will be missed.

Haha when you put it that way that is pretty funny lol. All the excitement and clapping and the music and everything...for an appliance. "a brand new Kenmore washer and dryer set!".

I think it gets into the whole "life is hard; escapism is fun". Doesn't really matter what it's about. It's like movies...I LOVE movies, but really, it's a fictional story made of pictures & sound that is designed to waste our time through entertainment. As one teacher called it, "movies are emotional heroin" because they manipulate our emotions. So I don't think the Price is Right is so much about appliances as much as being on TV, being on a gameshow, being in front of people, having your friends & family see you, having fun, and getting the opportunity to "win" something (which sadly, as an adult, is pretty useful for stuff like appliances LOL).

I mean, I'd be pretty psyched up to win an airfryer haha!

I'd be super stoked to win a fridge from my childhood. I could install it today with about 99% certainty it would last the rest of my life.
