Boat Gurus

So my goal is to buy a boat this winter, couple of questions...

Is a boat with a cabin like this too big/slow to pull a skier?

Or is it possible, but just not near as much fun as a smaller open bow ski boat?

I'm thinking it'd be nice to have a cabin you could sleep in or take a dump in, don't know if a boat that size is too big to pull a skier though...

wakeboardings where its at

EDIT: and somthing like that should be fast enough for a wakeboarder or skiier. Even pontoon boats can pull a wakeboarder (with a terrible wake)

It'll pull a skier no problem, but the wake won't be right.

Hell, my 24' pontoon with a 110hp outboard will pull a skier, but it's not too much fun. The "wake" is nice and flat though, so we generally take it out when we are pulling a beginner and take the runabout for more serious stuff.

That's pretty much it.

edit; the bow configuration makes no difference.

It is a good compromise if you don't live and breathe skiing/wakeboarding. A good balance of fishing utility, hot boat sex, and taking a dump below decks. Oh, and some skiing/wakeboarding.

A 20 ft cuddy is a reasonable all around boat as mentioned above. It will also be marketable for the same reason if you want to sell. Be sure it has at LEAST a 170 HP engine and it will be excellent for sking. You'll always wish it has more HP. Avoid the 140 HP models at over 16 ft.

The Cuddy area is very useful for rain/sun protection and stowing the gear (and the head) for your water activities.

Any bigger and you begin to need a very serious tow vehicle. Any smaller and it becomes cramped with 4 people.
