hey everyone,

i just decided to redo the first post after my troubleshooting efforts.

simply put, I'm not receiving any post or video it just sorta hangs. i tried clearing the cmos, nothing helped. i'm not too sure on what it could be, this happened after i set my fsb to 240, and mem at cas 2.5;3;3;6.

any help is appreciated.

-update, i have tried another socket 754 cpu , it did not work too well.
I'm guessing it could be the BIOS that became corrupted.

do you think my mb got fried? it doesn't even show the 1st screen anymore =x

It sounds to me like your processor just can't handle the speed you're trying to run it at. Either that, or whatever PSU you're running now doesn't have the power you need. So, were you able to make it into Windows with the second CPU? I highly doubt there's anything wrong with your motherboard, unless your current PSU killed it, which happens alot, unfortunately. I would definitely borrow or buy a more powerful PSU first, and see what happens.

One last thing, did you reset the BIOS correctly? It's harder than most people claim it is, to reset a BIOS, and that goes double for DFI boards.

My 2nd CPU does not work either. And it is a Known working CPU.
I have an aspire 500w CPU, but the 12v rail was kinda iffy. I'm going to go barrow my friends Antec 550w
I also have a PC Power & Cooling 610w PSU ordered from newegg , should be here in a few days.

I'm pretty sure i reset it correctly...not sure if i'm missing anything.
1) Remove Power cable
2) remove battery
3) Hit power button for 5 seconds to drain capacitors
4) Switch Jumper to "clear"
5) Go get a beer, drink it, get another one
6) Repeat step 5
7) Put the jumper back in the normal way (Pin 1+2)
8) Put the battery back in
9) Reattach powercord
10) Power up, and try to get into the bios.

-Request MOD to move this to Computer Help Section.
