Board upgrade - SATA Raid question

I just upgraded from an ASUS P4V800-X with a VIA PT800 chipset to an ASUS A8V Rev. 2 with K8T800Pro.
Both use the VT 8237 RAID-Controller for SATA.
Can i just plug in my old RAID-1 hd's (2 * IBM 160GB) on the new board or will it need to rebuild a new one ?

I can't speak from practical experience, but AFAIK if the controllers are the same type, the raid should work fine without a rebuild. I've had to replace a couple of raid controllers on servers over the years and this has been my experience in those circumstances. If you have any data that's especially valuable to you, you might want to make sure you have a backups available before you proceed.

Thanks for the heads up.
It worked fine. I have done similar things on servers with Mylex or other raid controllers, but no experience with these things from Via.
