board for am3 with ddr2 support

It looks like these are your only two options from Newegg, I'm too lazy to check other sites. I just got that CPU and this GB mobo 2 days ago from Micro Center for $150 after tax (have yet to mail a $10 rebate for mb). That deal ended Friday, but they tend to come and go often if you have one anywhere nearby.

edit: The gigabyte is all blue and white, that ugly colored one was rev 1.0 and I think 1.1 is much more common now, not even sure 1.0 was actually released.

ddr3 is way too expensive right now.

4GB of RAM is essentially the same price for DDR2 and DDR3. A 4GB set of either will be at least $90-
$100 depending of course on speed rating, unless you're talking about el cheapo no-name value RAM. Prices have pretty much equalized between the two types.

I'd really think about looking into DDR3. Why hobble yourself with DDR2 when it's got one foot in the grave and one foot on a banana peel? DDR2 will most likely get more expensive while DDR3 will likely continue to decline in price as it becomes more widespread in use.

If you're buying ram, get DDR3 like the folks are all saying. I'm using DDR2 though, and I don't think it's holding me back. Put it this way - overclocking ram from 800 to 1000 has made naff-all difference to benchmarks.
