BNC vs VGA

Hello all:

I just got my new (refurb) Sony 24" GDM-FW900 CRT monitor and it has BNC connections on the back. Are these better than regular VGA? Will there be any noticable difference in quality? Any adverse affects from using them (like in installing WinXP or playing games)?

Thanks.

they are better but only for longer cable runs i think. my viewsonic pf795 has em too but i still havnt used em. only other thing about em is your monitor wont send its pnp info.

might be worth a shot tho with a 24" monitor. what res you gonna run on that?

I'll start with 1600x1200 and see if that is too big. If so I will have to see what other resolutions it supports.

Should I connect the VGA cable instead during WinXP setup so that it knows what drivers to install or just install the monitor drivers after installation of Windows?
