i saw one on I80 as i was driving through Wyoming last week. I have never seen one before, talk about a strange looking vehicle. whats odd is that they were made Vixen Motor Company in Michigan but they have BMW badges i guess because it had a BMW diesel engine. Many people like myself see the BMW badge and think BMW made them but that is not true. also the transmissions were made in France which i find very odd. the things weigh 5100 pounds, wind tunnel test showed they had less drag than sedans of the 80's and they could get up to 30 mpg. the company went bankrupt and their assets were sold at auction in 1989.

i thought it was interesting so thought i would share.

Actually it was considered to the the driver's RV. Sat less than 6' tall, encased in fiberglass so, like he said, wind tunnel showed little resistance. It would easily do 100mph. Cornered well, had a manual transmission, lots of control. Biggest problem with the design was rear engine got hot going up the mountain passes, fixed with modern electric fans, but at the time was quite a problem for owners.
