BMW Driver Blocks Hydrant.....7 Alarm Fire Breaks Out

Let's try this again. The front port is a 4" port, the side ports are 2.5" ports. You'll never flow enough water out of the side ports to match the main front port's flow rate. Here, maybe a picture will help.....

I think they should design them differently so I can park my BMW in front of them. </sarcasm>

I think it would have been even better if the owner of the car had come back and asked them to disconnect the hoses so he can move his car. I would love to have seen the firefighters' faces/reactions in that scenario 🙂

too close to the hydrant.

Yep. All those guys are doing is sliding the car over a tiny bit to remove the kink in the hose at the hydrant AFTER the hose was threaded through the windows of the car. Notice that? The hose is already going through the car's windows?

I'm shocked and appalled that so many of you took handbag buying, foreskin-less, shitty troll Tommy's bait, multiple times.

ATOT, forfeit one Internet tube.

If you think that the firefighters should have taken the time to go around the ILLEGALLY PARKED CAR: If you ever find yourself in a burning building and the fire hydrant is blocked, I hope the firefighters take their sweet ass time finding an alternate route to protect the car in question.

They're protecting your ass from fiery death, so let's not worry about what happens to Joe Shmoe's illegally-parked car when there's emergency, huh?

Personally, I saw the title and hoped it would be a firetruck plowing into a BMW to move it from the hydrant to use it.

I would have cheered harder.

This, I am actually surprised this was not the solution as it is the quickest and ensures good access to the hydrant. I fully expected to see a love tap by the truck to ease it out of the way.

Unless the fire truck has a bulldozer-esque front to it, I imagine fire truck versus car with hand brake enabled is going to result in damage for both sides (as well as damage to legally parked cars).

Yeah the kink in that hose didn't look good to me. Might restrict the flow. Fucking idiot car owner. Does that car owner happen to have a daughter who was born without a brain? Just saying the stupidity seems to match up pretty good.

As a former newspaper photographer who's covered a ton of structure fires, and helped the firefighters on scene pull hose when they needed it, I've always wanted to see something like that. I would have waited until the owner came out to see their car to get photos of their reaction too.

And yes, you don't want to bend a charged 4" line too much, but even if they technically could have gone around the car, going through it is soooo much better.

Some of you fuckers on here who say you want to see the fire department sued forget that there is something called right and wrong. Some things, like parking in front of a fire hydrant, are just wrong and people deserve what they get, even if it's not entirely within the letter of the law.

Zero tears shed for BMW owner.

I'll admit that I was thinking along the lines of the others who basically said it seems like they just did that for spite. And I think the kind of people that say 'who cares if they did it just for spite, he deserved it' are idiots. Yeah, and a lot of people deserve to get punched in the face, but that doesn't legalize assault...ends...means...and all that...

A few select people punched in the face could save society a lot of grief. Let's not get so hung up on the letter of the law that we sometimes forget the intent of the law. We have so many laws that it sometimes makes us enforce what is wrong over what is right. We have an entire sub-species of lawyers who game the legal system to achieve often nefarious goals.

Right is almost always right. Laws are not always technically right, and anyone advocating for the BMW driver in this case is just wrong.

And, NO, I'm not advocating a Nazi Police State, so don't even go there.

The hose could have easily gone under or over the car. I hope the fire dept gets sued and loses.

No it wouldn't, and they won't get sued or lose. I hope the jackwagon that parked there is grounded when daddy takes his beemer away.

I hope when the tow truck driver came to tow the illegally parked BMW that he did not affect or interfere with the fire department.

Some jackwagon parked his car in front of one of the bays at a neighboring FD, and they didn't know where he went. There were going to have it towed, but before a tow truck could get there they had a call. They merely opened the bay door, pushed the car off the apron, across the street and into a creek that was beside the road to get it out of the travel lane, then responded to the call.

The owner was cited, had to fix his own car, and had to pay for the damages (scuffed bumper) to the fire truck.

The car was clearly marked BMW, which everyone knows, means "Break My Windows"
The firemen were just following the instructions left on the car.

That is even dumber than parking in front of a hydrant. That guy deserves to get his car bashed up.

unmarked parking spaces on the street are free for all. it's silly when neighbors try to enforce them on their own terms.

Whenever there is a festival that is a couple of blocks away, I hate it when all of the people going there park on my street. So I park all 5 of my cars on the street so other people can't park on my street. I also take 1.5 parking spaces for each car.
