BMW CD Player

Ok, my dad has a 94 BMW 351CI and wants to find a cd player for it. He says his friend went to the BMW dealer and it would cost $1000 for the player and isntallation. I have found a few on ebay, particuallyr the BMW Buisness CD player, I cant remember who makes it though. I wanted to know if anyone knew of a place that might have something like this, and if they could please direct me to it. BTW, it needs to have a black face and an orange display, like the rest of the dash. He doesnt need a tape player anymore, but if it has it, fine i guess. Thanks.

Just have an after market head unit installed. You could get a nice Pioneer for around $200 with remote installed and it would be way better than the POS BMW put in there 10 years ago.

BTW-Did you mean 325Ci? I've never heard of a 351 CI before.

Well, he hasnt gone to see if it really is 1000, but if anyone knew where i could get that buisness cd player that says BMW on it, like the ones on ebay, but from a real online store, please show me

My wife and I had a 1994 325i for a few years and we looked at getting a CD changer for the trunk but they were too expensive. Check Bavarian Auto, they have the Alpine BMW CD changers but IIRC they were like $600. I would just go to a car audio place and have them yank the stock head unit and put a decent Pioneer detachable face CD player in there and forget about the CD changer. You'll have a pretty decent sounding system, better than the stock one anyway. And if you replace those 10 year old paper cone factory speakers it will sound even better.

Well, he would rather have an in dash cd player rather than a cd changer but I could ask him anyways

I thought he was looking at the overpriced BMW CD changer with the factory stereo. No?

Yes, in dash is the way to go IMO.

what he really wants is a single in dash cd player, no cd changer involved, but i dunno where to get one thats made to go with his dash look
