I hadn't seen the new 3's until like a few weeks ago, but once I saw I damn near barfed, one of the ugliest cars I've seen in a long time.
Don't remember which version it was though, could hardly stand to look at it long enough to see anyway...

445hp isn't too shabby!

I don't know, though. These new 7s are depreciating like mad, and many are plagued with technical problems because of iDrive. It's hurting the company, yet they want to carry iDrive over to the next 5 and 3 (in a more simplified, sans Windows CE form). I just don't like the direction the company is going in. Why shift the focus from the driver to technology (as seen by moving the gear selector from the center and replacing it with iDrive)? Why make a new interior design that does not feature a dash that tilts towards the driver? Wasn't buidling the world's best sports sedans enough?

How could anyone think this car is better looking than the previous generation (or was it the one before that)? Specifically the 750 model used in the Bond movie (don't know the title - the one he drove with a remote control). I sometimes still see these on the road and they are still sweet. Of course, if I had my 'druthers, I'd make mine an 850i, or the Z1, just because you don't see them over here.

My bro have the older 745IL and man it's a dream to drive. They should have an autobahn for cars like these in the US.

It took me a while but I love the new 7 Series.....still not as much as the previous model's style though. But I would certainly take one if given.

Don't get me wrong, everyone who has driven a 745 (including myself) feels that it is certainly the Ultimate Driving Machine for its class. The engine, transmission, and suspension are truly first-class. It's just all the other crap and iDrive that messes it up.

Werd....BMW engines own joo!
Nothing handles like one and nothing feels like one. I don't like the I-crap either though. Please drop it BMW!!!

What new 3 are you talking about? As far as I know, the only thing "new" for 2002 was a minor change in the shape of the headlights.

And the "NEW" 3-Series won't be out for another 3-4 years.

And certainly the 3 should be nowhere near being ugly, the new headlights only made it look better.

I'm disappointed in the Z4 though. I think I saw some pics of the new 5, maybe it was on ATOT, but I think it looks great.

I wonder if I could find a BMW 760i on loss leader ad and how many internal organs I'd have to sell to afford such a car.

Hmm, interesting. I still dont think it looks all that great.
My 7 isnt going anywhere for now, but i might trade it in for a E38 (1995 - 2001) if i can find a deal.

Lots of E39s out there for cheap (relatively speaking of course). Shop around and you can find lots of certified ones at decent prices. Many dealers are hurting to move cars anyway they can. I got my X5 4.6is at a huge discount, not only that but they gave me much more than what my trade was worth. Toss in a $1000 loyalty rebate and my TCO actually dropped significantly.

Hmm, I'll admit that it wasn't as ugly as I remembered, maybe I saw a station wagon(that's what you call them over there, right?).

But those headlights still look like $hit, makes it look like some wierd jap car, only more boring.
But still not as bad as the headlights on the 6, those are far beyond fugly.

I think many people out there that would disagree with you on that one, more over, I don't know of any Japanese car that have headlights like those.
