Blurry Text on new monitor

I just hooked up a new monitor to my rig, and the text seems to be quite blurry. I turned on ClearType and played around with the settings but it didn't help much. Any other settings I can try changing?

Resolution. If you aren't using the native resolution of an LCD it must scale up or down which some do better than others.

Refresh rate. Most LCDs want 60-70 Hz.

I'm using the native resolution... 1280x1024. But bingo- thanks alot... I just changed the Refresh rate from 60 to 70 Hz and it looks alot better already.

Video cards send signals based on the refresh rate you set. Different refresh rates, different signals, different processing by the LCD.

LCD's typically use 60Hz

The monitor may have an 'auto' adjust feature so check your manual.
