Blurry Samsung 955DF - PLEASE HELP!!!

Ok, I have a 19" Samsung 955DF and I am about to throw it down the steps...

For games, it's great... but in wondows, I CANNOT even read what I am typing now.... Test is SO Blurry righ tnow that it's nearly impossible ot do anything.

Using the monitor controls, I've messed with focus and "Clear Moire", whatever the heck that is..

What should "normal" settings for each of these two items be? NOTHING seems to work.... If I adjust focus all the way up or down, then a portion of the screen is CRYSTAL CLEAR, but it leaves half of the screen more blurry than ever.... is there a way to set it back to factory defaults? I am running at 1280 * 1024 at 75Hz which is correct setting.

I've heard of poor text clarity, but this seems ridiculous... I have my windows XP fonts set at large, and my browser fonts set to extra large, and i can still barely read them... (and it's not my eyes! lol)...

I'm going to go blind trying to read this that I've typed..

PLEAAAAASEE HELP !!!!

Something is wrong... I've got a 955df and have _NOT_ had any problems like you are seeing. I don't know about factory defaults.

Good luck.

Don't cry 🙂

1. Restore the monitor's default settings (you probably made the focus even worse than it was). There is usually a button or a set of buttons you have to hold down for a few seconds to go back to defaults.
2. Don't touch Moire controls - they are to fix wavy lines that sometimes appear at certain resolutions.
3. Try YOUR MONITOR on ANOTHER COMPUTER, and see if it still looks bad. Maybe your videocard is causing problems?
4. RMA it if needed..

i second trying it on a second computer. I have this monitor, and Text is CRYSTAL CLEAR all over, no blurry spots anywhere. Only con i can find for this monitor is that refresh rates arent that high, but it can 1280x960 @ 85 hz and thats all i need so its ok for me, but for those who want to run 1600x1200, the 60hz refresh rate for that res will make your eyes strain.

64mb Geforce2

It could be your video card. Have you tried a different monitor? Also, try the monitor on another system.

Dude, a GF2 could not cause such problems. Not to the extent of making him BLIND.

Throw the monitor down the stairs. It's not worth it. :|

Don't do that...Throw it to me 😀.
Then I'll have a second one.
Seriously though, I havn't had any of those problems, and I've had mine running on a ATI All-in-Wonder, GF2MX, and currently my GF3. Although I havn't had any problems personally, here is a link to the monitor support section on Samsung's site, maybe it'll hook you up with the info you need. Good Luck and Happy Holidays

Any video card could cause this, they do go bad at times. I have also seen some video cards that work fine at one res and not at another.

Try the monitor on a different PC and see what its like.
