Blurry monitor

The middle of the screen is blurry, seems to be a circular region. Is this the start of something fatal? Already sent one back about five months ago for blurriness all over the screen.

Wtf happened to iiyama build quality? My old 17" from 5 years ago works better than this 🙁 Still under warranty which is the only upside but I don't want another replacement from them.

This is not unique to Iiyama. All CRT manufacturers are letting quality control on CRT monitors slide while they convert to LCD technology.

Personally, I could never go back to CRT now that I've been on my 213T. Every time I have to work on my wife's G520P I cringe at the fuzzy text on the desktop. The only thing I like it better for is switching resolutions for playing games.

You need to adjust the focus control that's physically inside your CRT. It's dangerous, and you could electrocute yourself (even when turned off). I recommend you don't try it unless you know how to discharge the tube. Try to find a local TV/CRT repair shop, they may do it for you.

And, yeah, CRT QC is going downhill from here. It sucks, because it's not like LCDs have surpassed them in display yet.

Some monitors have manual focus controls on the sides or back. The NEC/Mitsubishi SB Diamondtron CRTs for example all have two screw holes on the side that can sometimes help. This is a very common problem with modern CRTs though; CRT QC has completely gone to hell these days and hardly any recently manufactured monitors are properly calibrated out of the factory. Your best bet is to find a used one on ebay or something since you will probably have to go through a couple of replacements until you get a good new one. (I went through three on my monitor and only got a good one the fourth time; I was lucky, since that one was manufactured over a year ago and was still new)

i notice all the time the flat screen crt monitors in stores either have extremely blurry text, zig zaggy lines going across the screen so it is not one color, or both. my 13 year old compaq crt looks better than them now.
