Just ordered Nokia 5660 for my wife.. Thinking of getting Bluetooth Headsets for her Cellphone. Has anyone have any experience with it? Is it worth getting? I think it's worth around $50-$200.

What brand do you recommend?

its worth it as long as you feel its affordable.

my friends are basically seperated into these two camps

1) Bought it, use it once or twice, like it, think its cool, but never use it continuously. (for one, the BT headset needs to recharge too, the battery life is probably worse than your cell)

2) Use them religiously. These ppl usually bring the BT to work and leave the cell phone in their drawers or handbag, while leaving the headset on for the whole day.

there are aftermarket BT headsets (like, non-Nokia non-SonyEcrisson ones and they are good and cheap too)

You will be crazy to spend $200 on one!

You can get a decent one for aobut $100.

I got the Sony Ericsson one. HBH-65. I love mine. Very cool and easy to use and free's your hand up to type etc.

If my phone had integral BT I'd have one all the time. I use the Jabra BT headset for non-BT phones at home.

They can be quite helpful in all different scenarios...for instance, I cannot get reception in the basement of the house. With a BT set, I can leave the phone upstairs and still be able to receive/make calls w/o going upstairs!

I love my bt headset. I miss it now that my blackberry is my main phone. I switch my sim on the weekends and use my t610 + bt headset. I wish blackberry would come out with a device with BT connectivity, it would own all.

hey werk

I read a little about the Blackberry, so what can it do? I know it is like an all-in-one organsizer with live stocks quotes and stuff. And do you put it inside your pocket? it looks awfully big.

Yes it is an organizer. I know they have realtime stock apps, but they don't come with it out the box.

The beauty of Blackberry is the Blackberry Enterprise Server's integration with MS Exchange Servers (or Notes if you're a sadist). Messages sent to you are automatically pushed to your BB. Messages that you send from the BB show up in outlook's sent items. Same thing with deleted items, etc. You can update your calendar on the BB and the changes are made on your calendar in outlook and vice versa (wirelessly). All other changes (contacts, notes, tasks, etc) require a physical sync. The browser can render real html, not just wap pages. The keyboard is large and easy to type on (unlike the POS Treos). Mine (6230 through TMobile) is also a phone, but not every model is. The battery life is outstanding as well. Not having to use a stylus to operate the device is a huge advantage as well (scroll wheel + keyboard works great).

I stick it in my pocket on work days with no problem. It is a bit wider than my T610, but the same height and a bit thinner.

All that said, I don't think a Blackberry is worth it unless you use it in an enterprise setting. Most of the features I described are not available unless you have an Exchange based mail system and another server running BES. Once that's set up though, you wouldn't trade your BB for the world. I know I wouldn't.

I got a Jabra BT200 for my birthday and I absolutely love it. When I'm outside I usually just wear it all the time. It's comfy and not really intrusive. Not to mention surprisingly clear sounding. As for battery life, as long as I charge it every other night when I sleep it's fine.

I have the Jabra one, but I rarely use it since I don't talk while driving (much).

It is nice though...
