Bluetooth usb tranceiver

Got the presentation mouse from MS, but my tablet already has bluetooth. I was hoping I could use the transceiver as a bluetooth adapter on a non-bluetooth computer. I plugged it in and it says it's a mouse even though I only plugged it in without the mouse turned on. Suggestions? Thanks.
