Its happened to me twice already where I started up and the bluetooth icon has a line through it. I move my cursor over it and it says bluetooth unavailable. The only remedy was to reboot and the problem fixed itself. I googled this problem and I saw some posts about it but they're dated back to '07. Have any of you guys had problem w/ the new unibody? According to the '07 posts, it could be a underlying problem to a bigger issue such as the logic board malfunction. I've also experienced dropped connection to my router, but I don't know if its a router issue or if its my mbp. Im running SL 32bit. Thanks for any response in advance.

my dads mbp had the same thing just last week. he hadnt rebooted in a long time (weeks) and just kept putting his computer to sleep/shutting the lid. finally restarted and it went away. i think it could also be a sign of failing components? who knows...:/ i love that computer though, and i would hate to see it break after such a short time..

It's a problem with Snow Leopard I believe. There are some threads on the Apple Forums that have not had any solutions that work. Hopefully 10.6.2 will fix it.

I think it's a problem that occurs when you do an upgrade instead of a clean install. When I upgraded my Macbook Pro 5,1 my bluetooth stopped work, but when I upgrade my Macbook 4,1 Bluetooth works.

Yah I really hope its a software issue and it will be fixed soon. It doesn't really happen to me often anyway. Twice so far isn't that bad, but it just bugs me that I spent 2 grand for this and it would bug out only after 4 months of use.I have the 2.66ghz 15''.
