Bluetooth Scanner for Android?

Just saw this browsing around. Got a gift certificate, and I figured this would actually be a really cool tool to have. Anyone ever heard of it? Wanted to know if it worked well, read codes correctly, and the like.

Does it have more detail though? One thing I know is that DX are just cheap eBay Chinese products that I'd buy if I was buying a dongle or something...but spending $50, eh. Seems to work with the same applications too.
 
Oh FYI - I researched this and these things work fine for olderish and simple OBDII systems but if you have a german car it probably has special OBDII codes that these won't pick up.

Not to say it's not good for MPG, data logging, generic fault codes.... But it's not as intensive as the specialized kits these people setup for each car
 
The Kiwi works quite well with my Duramax and gives a variety of information using the program Torque even in the free version... Simple installation and the Kiwi has the on off switch for no battery drain when not used... The program Torque is geared mainly for gas engines but as I said gives plenty of info for my diesel...

I have one, but I have two BMWs and the cheap bluetooth OBDII scanner won't sync with the car for some reason. Was a real shame as Torque looks great, but I just felt like a tool sitting in my car waiting for the pretty graphics to do something. :colbert:

I got it in just after Christmas. I haven't hooked it up to the Toyota yet, but I have played around with it on the Mustang. It's pretty cool. Took some digging around to find the pairing number which is 6789 just incase someone is looking for it.

I run it through Torque on my Vibrant phone and it works pretty good. It can monitor all kinds of things.
The only thing that sucks is the device is a little longer than I would want, since the OBDII port is right above where my left leg is so it makes using the clutch a little tricky.

Word of note if using the device (on android at least) it will show up in your Bluetooth devices but you don't sync it from there, just run Torque or whatever application and it will sync to the scanner then.
 
Well, just ordered one off eBay...didn't really want to wait for the DE one, and found one in NJ or so. (Bluetooth v1.4a ELM327 Diagnostic interface OBD2 v1.4) Amazon reviews said it was pretty good, $44 including shipping, if it works, great. If it at least clears the CEL light/tells me the code I'm still getting, works the same as a scanner I'd have to buy anyways.

I got mine...can't get it working with my car. Torque detects it, but keeps asking me if my ignition is on...
